Sao Beauty MeltAway Makeup Cleansing Balm, Makeup Eraser Towel & Pad

2.9.24 Lagos, Nigeria

When I heard about cleansing balms, the prudent spirit in me wanted to try out a sample of what this rave is all about before making a big commitment (at that time, the Clinique cleansing balm was all the rage) that would have been a considerable part of my monthly salary.

I refused to give into the trend and my patience was rewarded when I stumbled on SAO Beauty, an indigenous Nigerian beauty brand specialising in makeup cleansing products. They have a

  1. Makeup Cleansing Balm
  2. Makeup Cleansing Towel
  3. Makeup Cleansing Pad

Initially, I didn't believe there was an indigenous brand that was as good as the Clinique Cleansing balm was touted to be but I review beauty products, right? So I bought a small size of the Sao Cleansing Balm, from Port Harcourt or so, and boy, I was impressed.

After that experience, I went on to buy not one but 2 full-sized Sao Cleansing Balms alongside some Cleansing accessories.

I did a video to show how it works

This is the actual Cleansing Balm itself. It comes in 3 different fragrances but I just go for the classic which is this one. To use, you need to start with a dry palm and face. It works better when they are and the product has a chance to work its magic.

Massage all over the face, eyes, lashes, brows and lips gently making sure to work this product in and it will meltaway all the makeup...even waterproof makeup.

One thing I like about this product is that when I rinse it off my face with water, it rinses off easily without leaving any residue in the sink. Some other cleansing balms I've used leave residue in the sink which leaves it very dirty.

I'm not going to lie, I didn't think this towel could do anything when I first received it. But it is awesome at cleaning off makeup. It really is the Makeup Eraser. I like to use it after the balm, but you can use it alone to take off your makeup. All you need to do is soak it in water, squeeze and wipe your face. All the makeup goes off. The best part? Washing it is a breeze. After using it to clean off the cleansing balm and makeup, all I do is rinse it and the makeup is all gone. If you use it only with water to take off your makeup, a gentle soap is enough to wash all the makeup off in less than 5 minutes.

This works exactly like the Makeup eraser towel. Although I don't like it as much as I do the towel mainly because I think it takes more time to rinse off the makeup with water after use, unlike the towel. Other than that, it is an equally great makeup-cleansing product.

Would I re-purchase? Absolutely YES!
