Everyday makeup is not my favourite thing as I always have to wake up early for work and leave the house before the break of dawn. Also, I'm not comfortable with doing my makeup anywhere else apart from home so makeup in the office is a no-no. Even a touch-up is forbidden once I'm out of the house.
Image is everything they say and one's looks are part of your image so I've had to find a way around it. I really am the queen of simplicity in makeup and in finding double tasks for products so I've tweaked this process over the years.
Well, here is my latest, with tips and a video on the process too
My everyday makeup look is made up of 7 things really
Foundations(s), loose powder, contour, highlight, blush, mascara and lip balm (if you can call that last thing a product too that is). I also go for a light-medium coverage and then depend on product layering to achieve the flawless finish.
Here is my process
- I apply foundation all over my face, focusing mainly on the areas I need it which is mainly my jaw and chin area
- I then apply a lighter foundation with the same brush on my undereye area
- I apply loose powder on my undereye area and use the rest of the product on the puff all over my face.
- Next is contour and highlight
- Then blush (I like to apply blush over my highlight as it gives it a more natural highlight)
- I brush my brows with an old mascara wand
- Apply 2 coats of mascara on my upper and lower lashes
Once in a while, I like to spice up my everyday look. That's when I whip out the lipsticks and coloured pencils. This time around, it was the YSL, The Slim 02 red lipstick which is perfect for day wear as it it has just a perfect medium shade that isn't too overpowering for day wear.
I would wear this look anywhere. It really is a perfect everyday look with minimal oomph.
