This should have been more aptly titled Pink on Red but the play on words was too much for me to ignore so Red on Red it is, lol. What's the worst that can happen?
It's usually easy to create a monotonous pink look but red is pretty hard and yes it turned out pretty much pink that red but it's a great start to this series which I'm looking forward to creating.
So who are the main players?
I decided to go with a a coloured smokey red/pink eye look. I used the bronze shade in the inner corner of my eyes for a bit of shine as it is the only shimmer colour in the trio. I really love how soft the matte shades show up and this eye look has quickly become a favourite of mine.
For this look, I used the darker matte shade on my lids and the lighter shade at the edges and blended it out creating just a nice wash of colour around my eyes. The smoked out pencil at the outer two-thirds of my upper and upper rims finished off the smokey look nicely.
For lips, I don't like wearing strong lip looks to church so applied one layer of the velvetine and blended it quickly before it dries out. I finished off with a nude gloss on my lips which gave it this pink stained look instead of red.

THE PRODUCTS
Taos Cosmetics Eko City velvetine which is a red shade with a slight tint of brown in it making it neutral and thus suitable for all skin tones. I love that this product applies easily.
This Zaron Cosmetics trio is made up of 2 reddish-pink shades (one darker than the other) and a bronzey shade with a slight pink tint to it. Both pinks are matte and in my opinion, not as pigmented as the first set of Zaron palettes. However, patience is the key with these as the pigmentation enables you build the product easily for your desired look.

The red on red look is pretty cool and I'm looking forward to wearing a more intense and true red version of it instead of this muted look.
Where would you wear this look to and how would you rock these 2 products?
